description

This winter, Dr. Karleen Giannitrapani taught an introductory seminar for Stanford undergraduates exploring the role of bias in AI applications in healthcare. Students explored the concept of intelligenece itself, including why intelligence may be difficult to define, and explored how bias surfaces in AI applications in healthcare and how to mitigate it. The course included training in primary data collection as well as a culminating project involving a student-created mini-documentary exploring core topics.
